Job Description
The
Associate Technician, Electronic Instrument
provide preventive maintenance, calibration, programming, configuration and repair services to instruments, systems or equipment that measure and control different variables in industrial manufacturing processes primarily supporting instruments, applying mathematical knowledge and concepts of physics, electronics and mechanics; following written policies and procedures and complying with current good manufacturing practices. The occupant tests and ensures the accuracy with which the instruments against traceable standards used in manufacturing measure these variables so that the processes and analyzes are carried out in a safe, consistent, and uniform manner so that the final product has the required efficiency and complies with the specifications and laws that they govern the industry. Will work under the tutelage/guidance of a Technician, Electronic Instrument when performing calibrations or troubleshooting until skillset/certification on different instruments is developed/obtained.
Responsabilities
Responsible for repairing, inspecting, modifying, and calibrating the instrumentation equipment and performing preventive and / or corrective maintenance used for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products in accordance with the regulations applicable to our industry (CGMP, OSHA, etc.) maintaining a high degree of reliability in a safe and efficient way.
Comply with the AbbVie Policies, plant procedures, and regulations and requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) of the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or any other applicable regulatory agencies.
Will work under the tutelage and guidance of a Technician, Electronic Instrument if and when performing calibrations or troubleshooting until skillset/certification on different instruments is developed/obtained.
Calibrate/certify instruments (after skillset/certification on different instruments is obtained) used in the processes of operation or manufacture of pharmaceutical products. Certify proper function of instrumentation used for the final approval and control of process of operation or manufacture of pharmaceutical products. Carry out their tasks according to the regularity and frequency determined by the calibration system, following the procedures and ensuring no overdue scheduled calibrations.
Carry out the maintenance tasks (Preventive, Corrective) observing and complying with the safety rules and procedures that apply to each activity. Inform, correct, and suggest improvements to observed unsafe situations. Document these tasks as assigned, complying with the applicable procedures.
Properly document the calibrations performed using the forms and documents approved in the calibration procedures and / or Metrology Corporation. These include Calibration Work Orders, Out of Tolerance Reports, Repetitive Out-of-Tolerance Reports, etc., following the cGMP policies, procedures, Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and rules.
Must be able to use and interpret manuals, specifications, controls and/or electrical drawings in order to further develop troubleshooting skills.
Attend and complete the required internal training on environmental, health, and occupational safety in addition to local training and good manufacturing practices (cGMP). Use the required protective equipment (e.g. safety shoes, safety glasses, safety hat, disposable respirator and/or PAPR as applicable) and notify the supervisor of incidents or unsafe conditions in the work area.
Provide technical support and perform work during emergency situations in and outside of working hours, on holidays, during weekends or when the supervisor deems necessary. Maintain effective communication with client departments, including but not limited to: Utilities, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Tech Ops/QC/QA/MEC laboratory as applicable.
Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EHS) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties."
Significant Work Activities
Work in a clean room environment
Exposure to temps below 60 degrees Fahrenheit/16 degrees Celsius on a regular basis is required
Exposure to temps above 85 degrees Fahrenheit/28 degrees Celsius on a regular basis is required
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Technology of Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or Electronic Engineering Technology.
One (1) year of experience in calibration, repair and programming of electronic or electro-pneumatic systems, analytical, and laboratory instrumentation at the industrial level is preferred.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
Good communication skills in English and Spanish.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
