Arraignment Supervising Attorney

The arraignment supervisor maintains front line responsibility for the office's provision of client services in the Criminal Court day arraignment parts. This position requires a Monday through Friday day schedule plus a required number of holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and distribute CDP arraignment case intake Monitor and distribute conflict cases to other providers Assist attorneys in addressing substantive issues of cases arraigned Attend regularly scheduled stakeholder meetings with external agencies Monitor physical conditions of both courtrooms and holding areas Prepare daily arraignment reports Brooklyn - Criminal Defense Practice Office Minimum of five years as a criminal defense attorney Felony certified for a minimum of three years prior to applying Comprehensive knowledge of criminal and constitutional law, statutory interpretation, and ethical principles contained in the Code of Professional Responsibility Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders Superior oral and written advocacy skills and organizational skills SALARY TRANSPARENCY The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.
