We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Controller to manage the financial operations for two of our dealerships in Santa Monica: Genesis Santa Monica and our brand-new Kia Santa Monica dealership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive accounting and dealership financial management, along with a thorough understanding of the automotive industry. In this key leadership position, you will manage all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Controller is responsible for the efficiency and well-being of the business office, including managing profitability, expense analysis, accounting procedures, and compliance within the dealership. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Manage the month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgeted targets Perform account reconciliations and account analysis Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Business Manager/Controller, preferably overseeing multiple rooftops. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, or five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in CDK (DMS) and accounting software. High knowledge of excel and must be proficient with pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, and other complex formulas. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while juggling multiple tasks. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-pressure team environment and strong collaboration skills to navigate and interact with various stakeholders and teams. Compensation The estimated monthly income range for this position is approximately $12,000.00 to $15,000.00 per month. Please keep in mind that this range may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
