AVP of Primary Casualty Underwriting
We are seeking an experienced and motivated AVP of Primary Casualty Underwriting to join our team. The primary objective of this role is to oversee and manage the company's primary casualty underwriting operations team, ensuring profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the primary casualty underwriting team, providing mentorship, guidance, and feedback to team membersDevelop and implement underwriting strategies and guidelines to ensure efficient and effective risk selection and managementMaintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and reinsurers, promoting the company's products and servicesMonitor market trends and competitor activity, adapting underwriting strategies and guidelines as necessaryCollaborate with other departments, such as claims and actuarial, to ensure consistent underwriting practices and optimal pricingAnalyze underwriting data and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actionsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience with a focus on Primary Casualty UnderwritingExcess and Surplus Lines Underwriting experience.Proven management experience, with strong interpersonal and leadership skillsExperience in excess & surplus lines underwriting and analysis specification writingExcellent relationship building and management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
