Description*Governors State University's *[College of Arts and Sciences](https://www.govst.edu/cas/)* *seeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) *Adjunct Faculty* candidates to teach undergraduate courses in *Interdisciplinary Studies (IDSS).*Essential ResponsibilitiesWe are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach IDSS courses in the following areas: Academic Writing; Career Planning; Interdisciplinary Theories.
Interested individuals are invited to complete a faculty profile, attach a curriculum vita, cover letter, transcripts and list of references for consideration. If available, please also include a sample syllabus or a current or recently taught course.
At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.Required and Preferred Qualifications*Minimum Qualifications** A Master's degree in interdisciplinary studies or a related discipline. * Experience teaching undergraduate classes at an accredited college or university. *Preferred Qualifications** A doctoral degree in interdisciplinary studies, education, the humanities, social sciences, or a multi-disciplinary field such as Black & Africana Studies or Gender & Sexuality Studies.
