Title: Azure and Infrastructure Solutions Engineer
Location: Hybrid – 2 days remote, 3 days in Lake Forest, IL Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire
Required Experience: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience in engineering and/or applications development OR a high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant experienceExperience effectively communicating with and advising non-technical senior business leaders and technical engineers as a technical subject matter/expert consultant, including experience leading service design and technical requirements gatheringDemonstrated experience designing and deploying cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutionsExperience aligning solutions with business and IT strategiesExperience leading, delegating, monitoring, and supporting the hands-on technical execution of work via internal and vendor-based/3rd party teamsExperience researching new technologies, frameworks, and tools and securing support and approval via senior leadership and Enterprise ArchitectureExperience driving proof of concept and analyzing technical feasibility, project constraints, risk evaluation, and defining roadmaps for infrastructure technical servicesFamiliarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and business standardsKnowledge of service life cycle managementExperience with Microsoft Azure based infrastructure engineering Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and vSphere Experience with performance optimizationExperience with Azure Blob Storage and NetApp Data storage solutions Experience designing and building high availability and Disaster Recovery solutionsExperience in the design, setup, and maintenance of data center hardware and facilities, including servers, storage systems, networking gear, and power/cooling systems leveraging infrastructure as code and scripting techniquesExperience providing technical oversight for a variety of storage architectures such as SAN, NAS, DAS, including experience configuring replication, data deduplication, backup/recovery, and data protection techniques such as air gappingExperience with physical and cloud networking concepts Daily Responsibilities: The Compute & Infrastructure Solution Engineer is responsible for leading technical requirements gathering and design sessions with stakeholders as it relates to infrastructure services with a primary focus on cloud, on-premises, and colocation data center compute and storage. This role is integral in translating service and product vision to the internal and 3rd party teams who will execute the work.
