RMC Orthopedic & Surgical, Inc. is a health service and medical device distributor servicing Puerto Rico and the USVI. We are seeking a highly self-motivated Billing Clerk.
Requirements and Skills
· Prepare invoices in accordance company procedures, hospitals and insurance companies' requirements.
· Responsible to process 1500 forms.
· Reconcile prices in estimate to invoice and ascertain that price used is correct, according to the price list available.
· Confirm that every surgery performed has been invoiced.
· Ascertain that invoice includes all supporting documentation necessary, including but not limited to: 1500 form, prescription, "Hoja de Cargos", Report of Operation and Authorization Letter.
· Manage the delivery process of invoices by hand delivery, regular mail or electronically.
. Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visits to solicit payment.
. Locate and monitor overdue accounts, using computers and a variety of automated systems.
. Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.
. Persuade customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts.
. Visit customers on a regular basis, to address open balances, unreconciled differences, and pick-up payments.
Responsibilities and Essential Tasks
· Associate degree in Business Administration or Medical Billing
· 1-2 years' experience in medical billing
· Understand the healthcare insurance market
· Excellent organizational skills
· Skillful time manager; capable of multitasking
· Persuasive and detail oriented
· Work under pressure with minimum supervision to meet all job and assigned deadlines, prioritize
· A team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
· Excellent math and analytical skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
