Board Members play a crucial role in the organization, providing financial oversight, ensuring legal and ethical integrity, and promoting the mission of the organization. The ideal candidates will serve as ambassadors, engage in strategic planning, and enhance the public standing of the organization. Specific areas of expertise that are of particular interest include fundraising/development, public relations/media/communications, education, legal, and strategic planning.
Applicants for the Board Member position should have a strong professional background, with 5-7 years' of experience, and a commitment to the values and goals of the organization. Responsibilities include attending regular meetings, both virtually and in person, and participating in organizational and fundraising events. Experience in non-profit board participation is highly valued. The appointment is for a 3-year term, and successful candidates will be expected to make annual contributions, recruit and orient new Board members, and support the Executive Director in line with established objectives.
