The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the organization's mission, which is to provide a tuition-free, public charter high school education that equips students with the skills and support necessary for a successful future beyond high school. The school's unique admissions policy gives preference to students who are homeless, in foster care, or from low-performing schools, and aims to graduate students with 21st-century knowledge, collaborative and technological skills, and personal qualities that enable them to contribute to their community and pursue their educational and professional goals.
Board Members are expected to actively participate in monthly meetings, provide leadership and governance, and assist in strategic planning to ensure the organization's goals are in line with the evolving educational and socioeconomic landscape. Additionally, the role involves fundraising support, including making a personal donation each fiscal year and participating in efforts to solicit private financial support. The successful candidate will be a dedicated advocate for the organization's forward-thinking and inclusive approach to youth education, and will work to further strengthen the organization by identifying potential partners, contributors, and board candidates to ensure diversity and financial sustainability.
