Encova Insurance has an opening for a Building Services HVAC Specialist (Stationary Engineer Senior) for our Columbus, Ohio corporate location. This will be an on-site role with time spent at both our downtown building and our Data Center in New Albany, Ohio. We can hire at multiple seniority levels depending on candidate qualifications.
The estimated hourly compensation for this role is between $35.00-$40.00. Exact compensation will depend on your qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys a fast paced environment; who is involved in not only ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest industry standards, but who also is involved in the planning and design of current and future facility upgrades. Our Facility Engineers are empowered and have a voice in design and decision making. We approach projects with an emphasis on teamwork and rely heavily upon collaboration. While Encova is an established company with a rich history, we encourage the mindset of a progressive start-up company. The position is located in Columbus, Ohio at our downtown location and at our Data Center in New Albany, Ohio.
Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who has the ability to assess problems and either make a necessary repair or manage the repair. They must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years experience with HVAC in a data center or other Critical EnvironmentMust be proficient in Microsoft based programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, and Word)Trade Certification or state license in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC)Knowledge of CMMS systemsKnowledge of critical facilities operationsKnowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environmentsKnowledge of QA/QC processes in a construction environmentThe ability to: Comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents
Position Expectations:
Comfortable in performing work within mission critical facilities (i.e. Data Centers)Able to operate UPS's, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switch's, Switchgear, Chillers, Variable Frequency Drive's, Motor Starters, Power Meters, Computer Based Control/Alarm systems, Fire Alarm, Security Alarm, CCTV and Card Access. Ability to repair and perform preventive maintenance on CRAHs, AHUs, Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers, Plumbing, and InsulationAbility to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and control systems and equipment. Should possess a good understanding of the following test devices: Multi-meter, IR Meter, Data Cable Tester, Power Analyzer Perform daily inspections of the critical infrastructure Experience with High Rise chillers, water pumps, and cooling towersAbility to supervise external vendors to ensure regulations and operational procedures are followed. Review and update complex mechanical and electrical drawings Aptitude to follow procedures to the letter without deviating from qualificationsPossess knowledge of the theory of operation of generators, double conversion UPS, transformers, circuit breaker panels, switchgear, centrifugal pumps, remotely actuated valves, cooling towersRefrigeration cycle and heat exchanger knowledgeFamiliarity with the procedures for performing hot work on energized electrical panels including OSHA safeguards and protective equipmentAbility to learn and retain sequence-of-operations for all data centers in assigned locationKnowledge and experience with fire detection and suppression systems Knowledge of basic electrical theory including Ohm's Law, AC power, power/voltage/current relationship, grounding, and electrical circuits.Ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. Manages assigned work to meet professional execution, of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with manager on projects to coordinate activities as required
