Busser/Foodrunner

Summary:

The Busser will help the servers and bartenders by cleaning tables, clearing food, taking soiled plates,

utensils, and drinkware to the kitchen to be washed. They may also assist servers by filling water and

resetting tables. The Food Runner will deliver food from the kitchen to table both quickly and safely. It is

their responsibility to ensure that the correct food arrives as soon as it is ready, and at the proper

temperature.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.

- Ensure dining and seating areas remain clean and organized.

- Clear plates, utensils and drinkware as patrons finish their meal.

-Fill water glasses and provide menus or utensils to patrons as needed.

- Wipe down, clean, and reset tables.

-Pre-bus as needed.

-Be knowledgeable of menu items and changes.

-Must follow open- or closing- checklist depending on shift times.

-Complete side work when possible.

-Decompress boxes or other materials during or at the end of shift.

-Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

-A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.

- Ability to do high-quality of work unsupervised.

-Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification.

Education/Experience:

-Must be at least sixteen years old.

-Previous experience as a host/hostess preferred.

Physical Requirements:

-Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

- Must be able to lift, balance and carry trays or highchairs weighing up to 25 pounds.
