Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility will involve conducting conjugate heat transfer modeling and analysis for spacecraft and hardware using Ansys Fluent You will perform thermal model validation using test and in-flight data You will support thermal design decisions with analysis and calculation You will conduct thermal design trade studies that successfully balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule You will coordinate with all levels of the program and engineering staff on thermal design, analysis, and test matters Basic Hiring Criteria: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Possess a strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal design and analysis using the CFD software ANSYS FLUENT and meshing Are proficient in ANSYS SpaceClaim or Discovery CAD for modeling complex systems Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams Security clearance is not required at the start date, but need the ability to obtain Secret level security clearance; If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Have experience with spacecraft or satellite development programs Have experience using the Thermal Desktop software package
