Charge Nurse - Operating Room

JOB SUMMARY The Charge Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure. This role also involves teaching and leadership responsibilities and participation in unit committee and quality improvement activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Locate and document medical and nursing patient care information Utilize appropriate interview techniques to obtain patient history Deliver patient care using problem-solving and critical thinking skills Evaluate outcomes of care Complete care assignments in a reasonable amount of time Maintain communication with patient family/significant other Take on call as required EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida One year of recent OR experience Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required Intermediate computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
