The CAO will play a pivotal role in providing strategic advice and support to the Chief Counsel, acting as a key point of contact for administrative and operational matters. This includes overseeing and supporting agency operations, coordinating projects, and facilitating the creation and adoption of new policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for scoping, planning, and executing multiple projects, as well as supervising the Training Department and Private Attorney Outreach Partners. The CAO will also be involved in crisis management, communication, and the implementation of strategic plans and agency goals.
Applicants for the CAO position at the company must be members in good standing of the Massachusetts bar with at least 7 years' legal experience, or have an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills. A minimum of 5 years' of managerial experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing indigent clients, extensive knowledge of legal and operational systems, and a proven track record in managing large-scale projects and teams. Excellent communication skills, the ability to lead in a positive and professional manner, and a commitment to the values of the company, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, are essential.
