The successful candidate will be a key member of the Leadership Team, responsible for developing and overseeing the organization's strategic planning, staffing, and budgeting, with a focus on policy and corporate strategies. This role demands an individual with a deep commitment to the mission, at least 7 years' experience in non-profit management, and a proven track record in areas such as coalition building, grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and corporate activism. The Chief Advocacy Officer will also be tasked with program strategy, evaluation, and ensuring the delivery of impactful campaigns, as well as managing and mentoring the advocacy teams.
Critical to the role is a history of working with diverse communities and a genuine commitment to the values of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the criminal justice system, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders. They should be a strategic thinker, a problem-solver, and a proactive leader, capable of turning vision into measurable impact. The position requires a high level of project management, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A technical familiarity with the prison industry is a bonus, and the role may involve travel.
