The CCO will be responsible for overseeing the risk management of the company's loan portfolios, with a focus on expanding lending reach into various sectors and geographies while increasing access to capital for non-profits led by people of color. This role is critical for the company's strategic growth, and the CCO will be a key member of the Executive Team, fostering a strong risk management culture and leading the loan structuring, underwriting, approval, and closing processes. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years of real estate lending or credit review experience, preferably at a CDFI, bank, or similar financial institution, and will have a strong aptitude for analyzing credit risks in the nonprofit sector.
The CCO will also be responsible for credit and portfolio risk management, ensuring the overall quality of the loan portfolio performance, and managing concentration risk. They will lead the continuous improvement of lending policies and practices, as well as training and staff development in credit skills. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong project management skills, and the ability to build relationships while centering the needs of clients and communities. They should be a proven leader with experience at the Executive level, possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and be committed to the company's mission, core values, and its commitment to equity.
