The CFO will be a key member of the Executive Team, providing strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of the organization's financial operations. This role is pivotal in driving the achievement of long-term financial goals, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization, and advancing equity and opportunity in underserved communities. The CFO will be responsible for setting and monitoring clear financial goals, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency, and managing a high-functioning finance team. Financial strategy, planning, and budgeting are core aspects of the role, as is capitalization, including the negotiation and management of debt capital funding. The CFO will also oversee financial reporting, operations, risk, and compliance, and will play a key role in audit and tax-related matters.
Candidates for the CFO position should have at least 15 years of experience in senior financial management, with a preference for those with a background in financial services and non-profit experience. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred, as is a strong track record of engaging with debt investors and managing complex financial structures. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead change, manage multiple projects, and make sound financial decisions in line with the organization's mission. Compliance and risk management experience, as well as a high level of motivation and attention to detail, are essential. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite is required, and experience in a CDFI, financial services, or investment management firm is a plus.
