With a state-of-the-art facility, our kitchen production and delivery services team ensure safe and wholesome meals are produced daily and packaged in accordance to the highest standards to maintain freshness and quality from our kitchen to our client's homes. POSITION SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing and enforcing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. As a collaborative partner to the CEO and an active member of the senior leadership team, the CFO plays a critical role in strategic planning and execution of organizational, fiscal, and operational goals. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The CFO also oversees and participates in all accounting functions and with risk management of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Strategy and Planning: Monitor and ensure the financial health of the organization, providing financial insights to drive business growth and efficiency at MOWSF. Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the immediate and long-term mission and goals of MOWSF.Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with senior leadership and managers to create realistic and achievable budgets.Provide timely financial business intelligence and other analytical support to the executive team and Board of Directors.Accounting, Financial and Risk Management: Responsible for all aspects of accounting operations, managing and supervising the Controller and accounting staff to ensure full compliance with regulatory and generally accepted accounting principles.Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.Provide oversight of cash management, including developing policies and managing cash flow on a short- and long-term basis through regular projections reports; develop and implement corrective measures to ensure cash flow is commensurate with operational needs.Assure protection of MOWSF's assets through internal controls and internal auditing, provide oversight of company insurance policies.Provide oversight of all service/vendor and equipment contracts.Financial Reporting and Analysis: Identify financial benchmarks for measuring performance; develop financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report financial performance.Complete BOD Treasurer's Reports and reporting of funds raised for the MOWSF Board of Directors and CEO.Prepare appropriate schedules and documents for and participate in Board of Director, Finance Committee and Audit Committee meetings.Ensure all records are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles and Standards and manage the annual audit.Prepare and update the MOWSF financial operations manual.Ensure the timely filing of the year-end tax forms (IRS Form 990, State of California Form 199, and Registry of Charities and Fundraisers RRF-1) as prepared by the outside auditor.QUALIFICATIONS and PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Demonstrate a deep and genuine connection to the MOWSF mission to ensure operational success so no senior is hungry or alone.Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated experience launching new lines of revenue with the ability to complete relatively sophisticated financial modeling.Deep knowledge of accounting and financial management with at least five years of experience managing financial operations for an organization with an operating budget of at least $15M.Ability to organize, direct, plan and coordinate operations and projects. Excellent ability to set priorities and manage against timelines, including with multiple concurrent deliverables.Track record of managing and developing staff to achieve high standards of performance.A dynamic and open-minded individual who is customer-focused and solutions-driven.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred. Minimum of 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in a managerial position in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years' experience as an active CFO. Experience in nonprofit accounting and familiarity with accounting principles, financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce desired. Requires passing a credit/criminal background check.
SALARY / HOURS / BENEFITS: Starting pay for this position is $210k - $245k annually dependent on experience. This is a full-time salaried (exempt) position based on a 40-hour work week. MOWSF provides company paid health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance (100% paid for employee only coverage). Our 403b plan includes a 3% discretionary contribution for all eligible employees. Vacation leave accruals start at 15 days (120 hours) and we observe a total of 10 holidays per year.
