About the Role The Company is in need of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead and oversee a wide range of clinical and strategic initiatives. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, quality improvement, and the appropriate and affordable utilization of inpatient and outpatient services. This leadership role also involves managing health system relationships, regulatory compliance, and driving growth in alignment with the organization's goals. The successful candidate will be the primary driver of total medical expenses per member per month and will collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to meet health plan targets. Additionally, the CMO will engage with external constituents, identify and address health outcome disparities, and support the team in maintaining multicultural health care distinction.
Applicants for the Chief Medical Officer position at the company must have a minimum of 3 years' of work experience in commercial health insurance as a medical director or CMO, in addition to at least 2 years' of clinical practice. Strong knowledge of the managed care industry, the Affordable Care Act, and the Medicaid line of business is essential. The role requires a leader with a background in quality management, an accredited medical degree, and successful completion of a medical residency training program, preferably in primary care. Familiarity with current medical issues and practices, as well as knowledge of value-based contracting, is also preferred. The CMO will be expected to have a proven track record in driving quality improvement and provider incentive models, and be adept at engaging with a variety of stakeholders to achieve the organization's strategic objectives.
