The CMO will be a key leader, providing strategic and clinical direction to optimize the quality, affordability, and delivery of behavioral healthcare services. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in behavioral health clinical strategy and care delivery, with a focus on driving execution and change through collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and directing evidence-based programs, promoting high-quality healthcare services, and integrating behavioral health with other health solutions product lines. Additionally, the CMO will be involved in product development, designing programs to improve health outcomes, and leading the integration of digital health tools and telehealth services into care models.
Applicants for the CMO position must have a Doctorate of Medicine (MD or DO) degree, be board-certified in Psychiatry and/or Internal Medicine, and possess a strong background in managed care, particularly in the behavioral health sector. A minimum of 10 years of behavioral clinical practice experience and 5 years in the managed care industry is required, along with a proven track record in areas such as care delivery systems, utilization management, and product development. The role demands excellent presentation skills, the ability to work in a highly-matrixed environment, and a solid belief in evidence-based medicine. The CMO will also be expected to have solid financial and business acumen, experience in leading and developing teams, and a commitment to advancing health equity and addressing health disparities.
