The successful candidate will be tasked with significantly increasing the organization's fundraising capacity, with a minimum goal of $1M in the first year. This role is pivotal in building new funding relationships, particularly with institutional donors, government and multilateral agencies, and corporations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive fundraising experience, a strong background in working with a variety of funders, and a proven track record in the philanthropic sector. Experience with international public and private sector funding sources, including USAID, UN agencies, and a background in Africa, preferably Ethiopia, is highly valued. The Chief Philanthropy Officer will be expected to work independently, yet collaboratively with the Board of Directors, and must be a passionate, proactive, and results-driven individual with excellent communication skills.
