The **Child Support Specialist** utilizes critical thinking to establish, modify, enforce, and collect Child Support obligations by making decisions for an optimal outcome for each individual case while following Colorado and Federal guidelines.
The **Child Support Specialist** is responsible for: Managing a large caseload consisting of 450-500 cases, enforcing child support orders and medical support orders through various judicial or administrative processes. Interpreting and applying terms of parties' private child support/maintenance orders as well as our own orders for entry into our data management system, ACSES. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications
Minimum of three years of work related experience in comprehensive case management AND a high volume customer service position OR working with a complex computer system. Or a combination of experience and education Preferred qualifications * Work experience in Child Support Services
* Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes that would lead to success in this role include: Ability to navigate family circumstances while serving the best interest of the child(ren). Ability to problem solve by using critical thinking and utilizing resources/researching to find solutions that are best for the family and the department. High level organizational skills and thrives with strict deadlines. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication based on level of program knowledge of the audience. Pre-employment assessment process requires candidate to use independent and in-depth thought processing to evaluate the best interest for a client and their family.
