Position Overview: Supervisor
The Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and maintaining the high standards associated with the Ghirardelli name. This position supports the General Manager and leadership team in delivering exceptional customer service, optimizing financial performance, and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities Store Management Ensure the safety and well-being of the store and its employees through proactive safety measures, risk management, and effective response strategies. Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, upholding standards of professionalism, team-building, and recognition. Collaborate with store personnel, division management, and corporate departments such as HR, IT, finance, and payroll to ensure smooth operations. Restaurant and Retail Operations Prioritize daily store activities under the guidance of the General Manager. Manage the operations of various sales areas, ensuring staff and resources are strategically allocated to maximize efficiency. Act as the primary point of contact with corporate employees and external vendors when management is unavailable. Model exemplary customer service and leadership, setting the standard for all employees. Monitor sales and labor costs in real-time, aiming to maximize profitability while maintaining high customer service standards. Address and resolve escalated customer service issues promptly. Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and adherence to branding requirements, including managing guest communications regarding allergens. Utilize the MICROS system proficiently for daily operations. People Management Assist with payroll, scheduling, interviewing, and training in collaboration with the General Manager and HR. Develop and mentor Chocolateers through coaching and empowerment. Handle basic employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, under the guidance of the General Manager. Serve as a role model and resource for Chocolateers. Qualifications & Skills Strong oral and written communication skills with a clear, professional demeanor. Team-building skills, including empathy, delegation, and empowerment. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision. Experience in business forecasting for sales and resource needs. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems such as MICROS. Knowledge of restaurant or retail management techniques. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. At least one year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment, with six months of supervisory experience preferred. Working Conditions Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Ability to travel to various locations across the country. Compensation Pay rate: $23/hr + tips.
