Summary/Objective
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining facility cleanliness, performing minor repairs, and notifying management of any building issues.
Essential Functions
Clean and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restrooms, etc.).
Perform heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
Notify management of deficiencies or repair needs.
Stock and maintain supply rooms. Gather and empty trash.
Cooperate with other staff and follow health and safety regulations.
Service, clean, and stock restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Mix and prepare cleaning solutions as needed.
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
Clean and restore building interiors after damage (fire, smoke, water).
Monitor building security and safety (lock doors, check appliances).
Move heavy furniture and equipment.
Perform lawn care, snow removal, and debris clearing.
Notify management of major repair needs.
Requisition cleaning supplies and equipment.
Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent infestations.

Work Environment
The role involves work in various settings including restaurants, breweries, and offices. Conditions include stairs, uneven surfaces, and potential hazards like slips, trips, and falls. Hand washing is frequent, especially in food prep areas. Outdoor work may be required in extreme conditions in Denali, Alaska, where temperatures can drop below freezing and surfaces may be slippery.
Physical Demands
This is a physically active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Regular use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and basic repair tools is expected.
