Direct hire, night/morning shift 3am-11am
The Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The objective of this position is to provide accurate and timely results to aid in patient care. The Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist is responsible for the proper performance of a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests, including quality control and equipment maintenance. Additionally, they are expected to follow all laboratory policies and procedures and maintain accurate records of all tests performed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including but not limited to:
- Hematology
- Clinical Chemistry
- Microbiology
- Immunology
- Serology
- Urinalysis
- Blood banking
- Molecular diagnostics
- Cytology
- Immunohematology
Ensure all tests are conducted accurately and in a timely manner.
Follow laboratory policies and procedures and maintain accurate records of all tests performed.
Communicate test results and analysis to medical staff, including pathologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Perform and document quality control procedures and participate in the evaluation of new testing methods and equipment.
Maintain proper inventory of supplies and equipment, and perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines and regulations.
Continuously stay updated with new developments and advancements in laboratory science.
Assist in the training and supervision of lab assistants and other personnel.
Participate in continuing education and maintain appropriate certification and licensure.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license from a recognized certifying agency. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Generalist in a clinical laboratory environment. Proficient in laboratory techniques, procedures, and safety protocols. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
