At Royalty Medical Solutions, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Lab Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology to work with our client a large reference lab. This position requires working in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting to perform and interpret a variety of molecular diagnostic tests. The Clinical Lab Scientist - Molecular Biologist plays a crucial role in assisting with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through the analysis of genetic material.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex molecular diagnostic tests and procedures, such as DNA extraction, amplification, and sequencing.
- Analyze and interpret molecular test results, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Maintain and troubleshoot molecular laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of biological samples.
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and quality control requirements.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to communicate test results and provide guidance on appropriate treatment plans.
- Stay updated with advancements in molecular biology and participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other personnel.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by a recognized certifying agency Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on molecular biology Expertise in molecular diagnostic techniques, including DNA extraction, amplification, and sequencing Proficient in the use of laboratory information systems and molecular biology software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Commitment to quality patient care and safety Benefits
