Description Under the direction of the Research Director of the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) and Translational Team for the Department of Medicine, Hematology Oncology Division in consultation with the Site Investigator(s), Team leader and Division MSO, coordinate all research activities related to the Research Network at assigned community site/s. The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that protocol procedures have been completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner. This includes responsibility for nursing assessment and patient intervention, FDA, IRB and Study compliance, patient recruitment and enrollment, data collection, research chart documentation, quality assurance, maintenance of drug records, study report preparation, and protocol information dissemination to investigators, health care professionals, patients and their families. Occasional travel to UCLA and travel between sites is required; may be asked to attend out of state Investigators/Research Meetings.
Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. UCLA Health hourly salary range for this position is $63.83 - $96.57.
Qualifications Required:
Current active Nursing Licensure (RN)
Current CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
Clinical research experience, with in-depth knowledge of clinical oncology
Travel to different clinic sites as needed.
Working Knowledge of good clinical practices for clinical research
Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate research procedures and patient treatment schedules
Ability to work in more than one work environment, travel to participating sites, and attend monthly network meetings, research conferences and local or off-site investigator/initiation meetings.
Ability to be flexible in handling work delegated by more than one individual and changing work priorities.
Ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions with acutely ill Oncology patients using strong clinical judgment and up to date Oncology Knowledge.
Computer skills including word-processing, use of spreadsheet, e-mail and research data entry.
