Job Summary
OBIC Clinic is operated through the UCSF Department of Psychiatry at San Francisco General Hospital in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. OBIC Clinic provides evidence-based outpatient treatment for substance use disorders with particular emphasis on medications for addiction treatment. OBIC Clinic is starting a new patient outreach and engagement program. We will be working with SFDPH's Street Overdose Response Team (SORT) to provide follow-up and outreach for people who have experienced a non-fatal overdose. We are seeking a Clinician to join our team in providing outreach to patients, harm reduction and symptom focused therapy, and connection to community resources. This is an exciting time to join our team as we grow and transform with the addition of new programs and services to support our patients' needs.

We are looking for a mission-driven, team player committed to excellent, de-stigmatized patient care for patients with unhealthy substance use. Under the leadership and supervision of the OBIC Medical director and SORT Program Manager, the OBIC SORT Clinician will play a key role in providing outreach and engagement for individuals who have recently experienced a non-fatal overdose. The clinician will work with the OBIC SORT team to identify appropriate outreach and engagement plans for individual participants. The Clinician will provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and person-centered care and follow-up. This will include performing a brief or extended psychosocial needs assessment with participants and utilizing evidenced-based models of care including but not limited to CBT, solution-focused therapy, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing. The Clinician will assist clients with focused symptom reduction through talk therapy, case management, and coordination with other SORT team members. The Clinician will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and monitoring contingency management or motivational incentives based on participant identified goals. The Clinician will assist with care coordination in collaboration with the patient navigator including connecting to systems of care for primary care, psychiatric care, and substance use treatment based on participant needs and interests.

Required Qualifications
* Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology/CSWE or a related field from an accredited university or school of Social Work and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position; and registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
* Experience working with clients with severe psychosocial stressors and acute and chronic traumas.
* Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
* Demonstrates resourcefulness, effective written and oral communication, diplomacy, organizational and analytic skills.
* Self-directed, assertive and creative in problem solving, systems planning and patient care management.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
* Able to provide age-appropriate assessments, interpretation of data, and delivery of interventions. Demonstrates the ability to work with any patient and family regardless of race, gender, religious affiliation, cultural beliefs, lifestyle, and disease process or treatment plan.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated excellence in reliability and attendance.
* Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings, as well as experience in providing consultation and training around trauma-informed approaches to systems change; collaborative, relationship-based consultation; and evidence-based psychotherapy for children, youth, and families who have experienced complex trauma.
* Demonstrated competency working with low-income, culturally diverse populations.
* Demonstrated competency working with culturally diverse, foreign-born, recent immigrant populations
* Aware of institutional polices regarding the provision of services and conduct of research in compliance with HIPAA.
* Capacity to be reflective about work and role
* Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications
* Two years of clinical social work experience.
* Experience or knowledge in patient outreach
* Possession of a California State Driver's License
* Ability to communicate in verbal and written Spanish

License/Certification
* Eligible for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners
