SHE-CAN is seeking a full-time Community Building Manager to join our growing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Your primary responsibilities will be to support the Community Building activities and lead the Power To Fly Volunteer Corps and the administration of the social impact Make a Change program. You will work closely with our Director of Community Building in executing all community building activities: mentor, university, events, and relationship building.SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) is a global organization that builds female global leadership in post-conflict countries. We help passionate young leaders win scholarships to U.S. universities, provide them with leadership training, and pair them with U.S. mentor teams who help them thrive in college and launch change-agent careers at home. We have helped 119 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia and Guatemala win $31M in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges. SHE-CAN is in the midst of an exciting strategic growth period, and roles and responsibilities may change as it implements a focus on SHE-CAN scholar success. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team that will produce some of the world's next great female leaders and change agents. Responsibilities Community Building Support: Supports the Community Building team in growing our community, including the mentor, university, and volunteer communities. This could include research, reporting, presenting and planning for each of the stakeholder groups.Lead SHE-CAN Power To Fly Volunteer Corps Program: Direct SHE-CAN's Volunteer Corp - Power To Fly (PTF) - that matches volunteers from our high-level professional network to our scholars, community, and staff members to execute short-term projects. As the lead, this person will take applications and assess interests from PTF members and inform and match them to opportunities at SHE-CAN. They will work with the staff to identify new volunteer opportunities, engage members, ensure successful projects, track and evaluate the program, and bring new ideas when needed.Lead the Make a Change Program: The manager will work closely with the Director of Development and senior management to lead this program that provides seed money for summertime in-country social impact projects that our scholars lead. The manager will help the Development team secure funding and recognize sponsors, oversee the application process, lead a selection committee, and provide volunteer advisors when needed. However, the amount of remote time in the future is subject to change based on the organization's workload.Candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area or be willing to relocate.Salary will be in the $76-85K range and includes 15 days of PTO.As a global organization, many calls, meetings, and email correspondence occur during the weekends and in evenings, and people will need to be accessible and occasionally come in outside those stated hours.Our organization requires employees to be current on COVID vaccinations and boosters.Employees agree to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.This position requires a smartphone and computer.
