As a Computer Engineer at Jacobs, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing next-generation automation systems and data platforms for mission-critical operations. Working on platforms like Palantir, along with advanced automation technologies including PLC programming, network configuration, and AVEVA, you'll contribute to the engineering of complex, large-scale systems that drive performance across the water industry. Your work will be vital in delivering innovative solutions that improve our clients' operations, enhance productivity, and ensure data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Design, develop, and configure advanced automation platforms, with a focus on Palantir, AVEVA, and PLC systems to meet client requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems, data pipelines, and visualization tools across client infrastructures.
Test and validate PLC programming to improve system functionality, performance, and reliability.
Design network infrastructures to ensure seamless communication between systems, enhancing data flow and system stability.
Develop custom interfaces for system integration and configuration within AVEVA environments.
Perform system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient operation of automated platforms.
Work closely with clients to define system requirements, provide ongoing support, and refine solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Ensure that platform development and automation meet quality standards and adhere to best practices in security, performance, and scalability.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Hands-on experience with data platforms, including configuration, integration, and optimization.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, network configuration, and automation tools such as AVEVA.
Familiarity with system architecture, data visualization, and large-scale system integration.
Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug complex systems in live operational environments.
Experience with cloud platforms, edge computing, and industrial IoT is a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary team.
