Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of financial operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Duties
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely collections and payments.
Conduct general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
Supervise payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Implement and maintain double entry bookkeeping practices to ensure integrity in financial reporting.
Prepare regulatory reporting as required by government agencies and stakeholders.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation for review.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Provide leadership to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in public accounting or as a Controller in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including debits, credits, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and regulatory reporting.
Proficiency in general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation processes.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong leadership abilities with experience managing finance teams effectively.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
