** Job Description**
**Responsibilities**
**The Cook/Chef, Food Nutrition** is responsible for delivering the highest quality daily food production for delivery to our patients, staff and guests. Assures that quality food services are rendered to patients, employees, visitors, Medical Staff and other allied health professionals in accordance with the standards, rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies and established Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assures the maintenance of safe and sanitary environment. Promotes an atmosphere conducive to learning and job effectiveness for staff.
**Qualifications**
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
* Responsible for the daily production of foods for patient meal delivery, cafe and catered events.
* Collaborates with Food Service Director on menu/recipe development.
* Responsible for sanitation in all assigned areas and maintaining adherence to all regulatory standards.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the staff.
* Openly accept feedback from others for the continued quality improvement of the organization
* Ability to provide unparalleled service excellence to all patients and guests.
* Additional duties as assigned
**Education:** High School Diploma/ GED Required. Culinary Arts degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
**Certification**: Current City of Chicago Food Service Managers Certification or completion within 3 months of hire.
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years as Cook/ Chef required; preferably in institutional cooking experience in a health care setting and upscale catering preferred.
**Knowledge:** Ability to communicate in English. Ability to do basic math calculations. Knowledge of quantity food preparation.
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Strong Communication Skills
* Detail Orientated
* Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities.
