**Description**
**DIETARY AIDE COOK**
Performs a wide variety of tasks and operations to prepare and cook foods for patients, employees and others as directed following standard practices and procedures and complying with regulatory requirements. Provides direct supervision of staff.
**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required include:**
- Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of food service industry, cooking methods and procedures, Health Food Codes, proper handling and storage of food and familiarity with commercial cooking equipment at a level normally acquired through a minimum of 6-12 months previous experience in large-scale cooking operations or 6-12 months on-the-job training.
- Leadership and team-building skills necessary to effectively supervise and motivate staff.
**DIETARY AIDE- BAKER**
Performs a variety of tasks and operations to prepare and process salads and cold food items and bakes specialty food items following standard practices and procedures. Complies with regulatory requirements.
**MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**
- Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of baking methods and procedures and familiarity with commercial baking equipment at a level normally acquired through a minimum of 6-9 months previous experience in large-scale baking operations or 6-9 months on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of measuring tools (tsp., Tbsp. etc.).
- Knowledge of proper handling and storage of food in order to meet department standards for food service.
