EVENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
The Coordinator will be in charge of the design, development and implementation of the cultural programming and dissemination of the School of Arts, Design and Creative Industries. The position will report to the Dean of the School and will work in coordination with the academic leaders of each program. As an academic unit specializing in the arts, the School requires a robust cultural programming that allows students to gain experience and develop their portfolio. At the same time, part of that programming will require collaboration with the arts ecosystem.
A part of the job, the Coordinator will address all artistic, technical, promotional and operational issues related to events in dance, music, theater, visual arts, design and multidisciplinary events. Coordination with other institutional units is necessary to achieve the objectives. Coordination also includes events outside the campus. The Coordinator, with the support of the Dean, will implement communication strategies through multiple channels and will lead the graphic design and visual content for social media platforms.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in areas of Business. Administration, Communication or Performing Arts.
Experience in events production and marketing.
Experience (3+ years) in events production duties.
Direct experience in budgeting, marketing, technical aspects and logistics.
Experience in the overall execution of events.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
Project management and time management skills are necessary.
Understanding of all the roles, functions and tasks for events production.
Proficiency in office software tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is necessary.
Understanding of entrepreneurial development methodologies and tools and its application to business and non-business initiatives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning of each semester's cultural programming.
Preparing a budget per event and per season.
Identify revenue streams for some activities in the programming, including admission rights, sponsorships, grant writing and donations.
Developing a promotion and marketing plan in coordination with the Integrated Communication unit.
Design graphic, visual and written content for the cultural programming promotional strategies and documentation.
Identify, quote and coordinate with suppliers needed for events.
Execute all the logistics in collaboration with artists and faculty.
Coordinate events with artists and organization in the community.
Support Academic Leaders in the coordination of courses' projects and events during the semester.
Support student's entrepreneurship projects related to arts and cultural production.
Manage social media accounts established by the Dean.
Support the Provost office in academic events.
Other tasks assigned by the Dean and related to the scope of work.
