Summary:
A cost accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial records. Also analyze and record business expenses, enabling organizations to make informed decisions regarding their budgets and expenditures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Track and manage business costs, including expenses, budget, and supply chain.
Collaborate with management and financial teams to enhance business decision-making and financial planning.
Conduct monthly and annual physical inventories and oversee the cycle count program.
Record cost and inventory transactions as part of the General Ledger closing process.
Prepare and analyze reports supporting inventory counts, discrepancies, and other statistical data.
Generate monthly inventory reports as required by external stakeholders.
Support the Senior Cost Accountant by recommending improvements to inventory control based on physical inventory results.
Assist the Senior Cost Accountant in the preparation of monthly cost reports for the General Ledger closing process.
Serve as a liaison with manufacturing departments to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and recorded in the ERP system.
Analyze and record inventory reserve transactions based on physical inventory results.
Plan, study, and collect data to assess costs associated with business activities, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and overhead.
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Provide management with reports detailing factors affecting pricing and profitability of products or services.
Maintain the Cost Accounting System.
Reconcile manufacturing process inventories, including raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
Assist the Senior Cost Accountant with the annual budget and cost closing process.
Support annual audits as required.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required. At least three to six years as cost accountant or similar position. Ability to prepare daily, weekly quarterly and annual reports.
Qualifications
Proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides and accounting software.
Understanding of data analysis
Close attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Language Skills
: Spanish and English required, oral and written.
Physical / Work Conditions
In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. While performing duties the employee is required do management presentations and attends to executives meeting. Position may require working evenings and weekends, attending remote meetings and traveling in or outside the country.
