Our client seeks a Data Science/Analytics & BI consultant who will be a member of the analytics team and act as an internal consultant for business teams to successfully build data pipelines, create models/calculators, and schedule and deploy them to the production environment. The consultant will also act as a product manager to design and build features in the core analytics platform. Our client leverages MSSQL, Snowflake, EC2, Python, Tableau, Jupyter Hub & AWS ML tools, Autosys, etc.
ResponsibilitiesAct as a Product Manager to design and document features for enhancing the analytics platform and partner with development teams to implement those features.Understand and document the business requirements, processes, and workflows, developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows.Build Python-based models and calculators on the analytics platform in partnership with the business team or based on requirements provided by the business users. Build Tableau Data Models utilizing best practices, ensuring data accuracy and ability to blend with other certified data sources. Maintain data sources on Tableau/Power BI Server.Work extensively in Tableau/Power BI to design and build customized dashboards to present a data-driven story of the analysis.Evaluate data sources, build data pipelines for structured and unstructured data using Snow SQL in a Snowflake environment, and recommend appropriate solutions.Perform data analysis, data mapping, and develop ad hoc SQL and Snow SQL queries. Conduct QA testing of developed deliverables and assist with User Acceptance Testing.Partner effectively with all levels of the organization and be responsible for direct interaction with internal business users.Manage the prioritization, logging, and tracking of user-related issues, defects, enhancements, and work requests.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics.Significant business/data analysis and/or system development experience.Experience building quantitative/ML solutions using a programming language (Python, R, Java, or C#). Experience in the financial services industry and good knowledge of measures and metrics used in the investment process for fixed income and equity. Experience in building containerized models/calculators using Docker is a plus. Experience/exposure to building cloud-native solutions (AWS/Azure).Strong knowledge of BI tools and designing and building reporting dashboards - Tableau/Power BI preferred. Strong SQL skills. Exposure to Snowflake would be an added advantage. Strong experience in data analysis of structured and unstructured data.Service-oriented attitude and good problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written skills.
