Zions Capital Markets is seeking a well-qualified professional to join its Debt Capital Markets group as an Investment Banking Director. This specialized role will organize and lead the relationship management and coverage effort of institutions that invest in private debt and/or private equity in middle market companies and owners of real assets. The Investment Banking Director will report to the Head of Debt Capital Markets and partner with colleagues across Loan Syndications, Securities Underwriting, and Investment Banking to help with capital raising and risk distribution.

Zions Bancorporation's extensive commercial banking franchise and middle-market portfolio present significant transaction opportunities as clients grow and go through ownership transitions.
This position will require periodic travel and will be based in the Zions Capital Markets office in El Segundo, California.
Essential Functions:
Build relationships with Bank relationship managers, deal referral sources, and private capital providers, such as private equity sponsors, credit funds, asset managers, specialty finance companies, and insurance companies.
In addition to non-bank institutional investors, the position will also coordinate coverage of commercial banks in support of existing Loan Syndications activities
Coordinate the roll-out and support the implementation team for DealCloud.
Coordinate coverage and information tracking while leveraging existing outreach efforts and relationships of colleagues across the enterprise.
Organize and coordinate client events to drive visibility at industry conferences.
Manage and support the creation of comprehensive pitchbooks and marketing materials.
Manage ad hoc tasks and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
10+ years of experience in business development for financial and/or professional services
Deep knowledge of investment banking products, services, and markets
Self-directed, highly motivated, and proactive
Ready to assume a high level of responsibility
Demonstrated track record of developing and managing relationships within the institutional investment community
Significant knowledge of applicable investment banking regulations
Excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written)
High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail
Unquestionable ethics, integrity, and judgment
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management
Series 79 (or equivalent) and Series 63 will be required within 90 days of joining

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $175,000 - $250,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and the Bank's overall performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
