As a Dietary Manager you will carry out our Mission of Love by managing and coordinating the activities of the facility Dining Rooms and assisting in special functions. Functions as a member of the Food Services team to develop strategies for effectiveness and continuity of services offered to residents. This position is responsible for oversight of the work of the Dietary Manager, Personal Care Servers and Dietary Workers.
Our Dietary Manager is responsible for the following: Develops written objectives, short and long-term goals for the Health Care and Personal Care Dining Rooms to provide high quality service to the Masonic Village residents. Maintains prompt and courteous service, making adjustments following complaints Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with residents, employees of Food Services Department, and with other departments to provide high quality, unified and cost effective Retirement Living dining service program. Establishes and implements guidelines for banquet service and plans and assigns duties/schedule for special functions or banquets. Creates "theme" presentation for dining services and functions. Coordinates all functions or banquets with production staff to provide efficient operation, material flow and cost effectiveness. Establishes and administers master cleaning schedules/assignments of all dining room equipment to ensure cleanliness and organization. Takes corrective action for non-compliance. Processes bi-weekly payroll for the approval of the Director of Food Services. Evaluates employee work performance and recommends personnel actions such as commendations or disciplinary action to the Director of Food Services. Maintains record of meals served to residents and visitors and record of cash operation. Orients new employees and instructs and trains them in work procedures which are essential for all food service operations. Arranges work schedules and assigns duties, responsible for scheduling. Manages and controls resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy and condition of supply. Resources and materials include, but not limited to: Resident Menu (Week-at-a-Glance and Daily Menus); smallwares, cleaning supplies, tablecloths and cloth napkins, dining room equipment and resident satisfaction survey. What You Definitely Have: A high school graduate/GED A bachelor degree in hotel/hospitality management or equivalent, minimum of five years of supervisor experience in hospitality industry or completion of an approved training program to attain proficiency in developing and maintaining high quality of dining services with three years supervisory experience in managing an upscale dining environment preferred. 3 years of direct experience working in a Retirement Living or nursing home environment. CPR, RAMP certification required (prior to or upon employment). Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania Liquor Control board requirements. Knowledge of cash handling procedures required. Excellent written and oral communication and proficient with computer applications.
