Overview:
What´s the role?
As a Digital Technician you will initialize and maintain an open line of communications to ensure all internal and external customers receive the highest level of customer satisfaction possible. You'll use advanced skills to perform functions associated with the installation, integration and/or maintenance of digital services and ancillary hardware and software. This role will also work both inside and outside in connection with installation or repair of circuits. You'll demonstrate the ability to resolve difficult problems.

following:
Follow established safety practices and procedures. Able to safely use equipment resources to perform specified physical job duties, i.e., satisfies manufacturer's specifications for operation or use of equipment including weight limitations.
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Edge and Core telecommunication systems.
Install, repair, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on digital services and ancillary hardware and software in the outside plant and microwave environment (includes DC Power Plant and Battery Bank).
Perform placement of plugs, cross connect jumpers, drops, protectors, inside wire, network interface devices, and/or associated equipment.
Perform work both inside and outside in connection with installation or repair of circuits which may require sending or receiving signals to adjust gain devices at the customer's premises for digital and/or analog circuits.
Install and/or repair complex premises equipment that are associated with the concentrator located in the central office.
Perform tests to ensure that circuits meet requirements or to perform repair work.
Interact with customer to verify that work to be done is as requested; evaluate customer's needs; take action to satisfy customer and enhance the company's image.
Read and interpret service orders, WORD documents, circuit diagrams, blueprints, and follow standard practices.
Analyze & understanding of circuit's schematics routes (DLR) and inform of any changes or modifications.
Complete documentation and reports information for work performed as required.
Use computer terminal associated with Operations Support Systems related to work operation.
Use access terminal to communicate with on-line databases for testing, receiving, and closing job tasks, tracking inventory assets, and other computer tasks.
Work with Engineering Team on Sites Decommissions and Microwave Audit as requested by FCC.
Contact customers to confirm the installation date.
Complete and provide Installations Confirmation Forms.
Perform regularly scheduled weeknight or weekend cutovers and/or integrations.
Follow MOPs procedures on maintenance windows to upgrade or change configuration in our Core / Edge as requested by Engineering.
May assist in coordination, evaluation and partnership with tech vendors, outside consultants, and internal resources.
Identification of root cause, resolution, work surroundings, testing and implementation of vendor/ Network fixes or design changes.
Responsible for giving to Liberty compliance with environmental laws and regulations applicable to its job function.
Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications:
What do you need?
Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree in Technology Engineering or related field, bachelor's degree preferred
2 - 4 years of experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
Other qualifications:
Fully bilingual (Spanish and English) with written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Chauffer CAT4 License. May require ability to drive vehicle with manual gearshift.
Must be able to travel in and outside of Puerto Rico.
Must be available to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to work on-call shifts as required.
Outstanding analytical problem-solving skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent system diagnosis, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Residential and Commercial Telephony equipment, installation, and repairs.
Ability to communicate effectively, politely, and efficiently with customers and peers.
Knowledge of IP Telephony integration and troubleshooting.
Shown knowledge of VoIP, Internet services, Ethernet, LAN/WAN, GPON, DWDM & TDM (DS0/DS1/DS3) protocols, outside plant deployment (copper, fiber optics and wireless).
