Job Title: Director of Clinical Training and Administration
Department: Mental Health
Oversee: Coordinator of Mental Health Administration
Report to: Deputy Chief of Clinical Services
Location: Westside Mental Health Office, 1749 14th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Status: Full-Time, Management, Exempt

Summary
The Director provides leadership and oversight of Agency-Wide Clinical Internship Program, Clinical Assignments, and Clinical Trainings as well as Mental Health Department Administrative Operations. The Director supervises the Coordinator of Mental Health Administration.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide direct oversight of Clinical Internships including recruitment, placement, and onboarding of interns in clinical roles agency-wide.
2. Ensure agency has a presence at school fairs and functions related to clinical field placement.
3. Maintain record-keeping and database of School Agreements, MOUs, partnerships with Universities, Schools, Training Programs.
4. Manage Clinical Assignments agency-wide to ensure Clinical Interns and Clinical Staff have the appropriate individual and group supervision assignments.
5. Communicate California Board of Behavioral Sciences and Board of Psychology updates to clinical staff and leadership to ensure requirements are being upheld by board registered interns and licensed staff.
6. Act as a liaison between clinical consultants, clinical supervisors, and program leadership to maintain caseload and group assignments.
7. Coordinate Quarterly Department Trainings and collaborate with Learning Department on clinical trainings for agency-wide access and availability.
8. Act as liaison between DMH and agency for incident reporting, LPS-Designation, on-call system, outcome reporting.
9. Manage oversight of department and agency-wide on-call systems to ensure effective crisis management.
10. In collaboration with Coordinator of Mental Health Administration, manage and execute billing and productivity reports to department leadership and in partnership with leaders to develop strategies to increase contract utilization.
11. Collaborate with Administration, Quality Assurance, Finance and Billing Department to ensure accuracy of client and claims data, implementation of County and State claims practices; resolve issues that involve loss of Medi-Cal reimbursements.
12. Represent agency in DMH funder provider meetings and collaborate with Clinical QA and Mental Health Department Leadership to adhere to funder updates and contractual obligations.
13. In partnership with Program Directors, collaborate to identify strategies to increase productivity, adhere to DMH billing deadlines, and reporting of outcome measures.
14. Collaborate with Deputy Chief of Clinical Services on department policies and procedures, development and implementation of special projects as assigned.
15. Provide input, evaluation, and updates regarding programs as requested.
16. Assist in matters of crisis intervention and clinical supervision within the agency as needed.

Qualifications
1. Master's Degree in the field of Social Welfare or Marriage and Family Therapy with active license and CA BBS Registered.
2. Minimum of four years full-time experience working with those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions
3. Strong working knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and requirements
4. Strong understanding of advocacy and the role it plays in mental health
5. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database applications
6. Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
7. Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision
8. Current, valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
9. Strong interpersonal and team building skills
10. Able to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid certification

Preferred Qualifications
1. Licensed with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.
2. Two years' supervisory experience
3. Knowledge and experience in chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment
4. Minimum 30 WPM typing speed
5. Bilingual Spanish

Work Environment
1. Field ( may need to travel) and indoor office environment
2. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
3. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 35 pounds
4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
6. May need to bend, stoop, twist , and sit throughout the day
