PRINCIPALS ONLY, PLEASE About the JobThe Director of Aquatics & Community Programming is a unique role serving at both the branch and Association level. The director is responsible for providing leadership to the Aquatics department of the Bayview branch, specifically the Bayview Safety Swim & Splash (BSSS) Program, and developing community-based aquatic programming for youth, families and adults within the YMCA of Greater San Francisco (YGSF) programs. The director offers aquatics expertise, support, and problem-solving capability to both Aquatic and Youth Development department leadership as well as branch executive leadership. The Director's job will be approximately 60% focused at Bayview and Bayview-related programs and 40% YGSF Aquatics-related work. The Director of Aquatics & Community Programming will report to the Senior Director of Youth & Teen Services at the Bayview branch and will also have regular meetings, leadership support, and check-ins with the YGSF Aquatic Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications21 years old or olderHigh School diploma or equivalent3-5 years of experience working in aquatics programming3-5 years of experience in management or supervisory rolesMust have basic computer knowledge (i.e. MS Office tools)Working knowledge of program management software tools (i.e. TREC/Salesforce, UPace)Effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform under deadlines, multi-task, and possess high degree of organizationRed Cross Lifeguard certification, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSLI) certification, BLS/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen certification within 1 yearAccess to reliable transportation to travel to and from various branches, sites, and Association OfficePreferred QualificationsCPO, LGI, YSLIT certifiedYUSA Multi Team Leader competency levelBi-lingual; Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, or other languagesAll employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors.
