The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for setting the strategy for all aspects of development and philanthropy The Palmas Academy, building lasting relationships with donors, and overall attainment of key fundraising targets/goals. The Director is responsible for all elements of philanthropic activities, particularly the design, development, and execution of all fundraising-related efforts, including campaigns (annual and capital), all aspects of donor relationships and development efforts that successfully maintain current donors and build new donors. The Director will support Board of Trustees Committee level committees and collaborate with other senior school leaders to advance the mission of the school by identifying, attracting, and securing non-tuition revenue in support of the school's financial sustainability.
Qualifications
:
Five (5) years of experience in an advancement or development leadership role, ideally in an independent school or non-profit sector, with a strong record of success securing gifts and planning/executing fundraising campaigns.
Familiarity and experience working with Act 60 donors strongly preferred.
Experience in developing fundraising strategies and a track record of success identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift donors, including high-net- worth individuals.
Experience in all facets of development, including data management and analysis, annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations and capital campaign planning and implementation.
Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter with a proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing, along with strong presentation and public speaking skills, and an ability to interact with diverse constituents and situations.
May have to work on evenings and weekends occasionally.
Strong sense of humor, positivity, and a spirit of generosity.
Proficiency with Google and Microsoft
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree is a plus.
