About the JobResponsible for implementing policies, procedures, processes, and training necessary to help prevent and reduce incidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards by YMCA employees, members, youth participants, and guests. Develop and direct safety initiatives/projects within all branches, camps, and facilities owned and/or leased by the YMCA of San Francisco.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.Two (2) years of professional work experience in a related field.Experience working with and knowledge of local, state, and federal safety rules and regulations (CAL OSHA, OSHA).Experience with root cause analysis, incident investigation, safety assessments, and developing, implementing, and evaluating written safety plans.Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines to implement policies and procedures.Experience in communicating with members of the public in a service environment.Ability to communicate risk-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.Experience with aquatic safety and/or facility management.Experience with camp facility safety and/or management.Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze trends/issues.Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Proficient with Office 365.Ability to travel throughout San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo Counties.Must have reliable transportation.Ability to make sound business judgments promptly and demonstrated experience with prioritizing under time pressures.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.Insurance or OSHA experience, training, certifications.All employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors.
