Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences, offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55; and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.
Grounded in the Jewish values of dignity, compassion, and community, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, fondly referred to in the past as "the Jewish Home," was founded in 1871. Today, 150 years later, it continues to build upon its legacy of enriching the lives of older adults.
SFCJL is seeking a Director of Philanthropic Experiences who can envision, plan and execute a variety of fund development events that support our mission to enrich the quality of life of older adults. This position is highly collaborative and requires resourcefulness, strong project management skills, attention to detail, high energy, a passion for SFCJL's mission and a proven track-record of relationship building with event sponsors, donors and trustees.
This new position on a growing team will be responsible for envisioning, planning and executing a dynamic events calendar that maximizes opportunities for donor cultivation and stewardship and builds fundraising capacity. This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Development Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Create and execute a strategic plan for events and donor stewardship that advances the team's efforts to maintain and strengthen high-quality individual and corporate relationships and supports increasing annual revenue goals. In collaboration with development staff, lead effort to segment event invitation lists, personal outreach priorities, and thoughtful event follow-up. Conceptualize and implement large-scale events such as an annual golf tournament and anniversary gala, smaller cultivation dinners, donor appreciation events, and digital events. Partner with key internal stakeholders across departments, on-site and off-site vendors, volunteer leadership and event committees. Create and maintain event budgets; manage events efficiently to ensure that established revenue goals are met while staying within the approved budgets. Work closely with development and marketing teams to create and implement the marketing, advertising, and social media plans for all events to ensure reaching audiences aligned with our strategic goals. Build out documentation and processes to streamline the event planning and implementation process moving forward . Evaluate the success of each event and identify areas for improvement. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of seven years' experience successfully planning and executing large-scale events with diverse audiences. Results-oriented, strategic thinker, highly responsive, proactive and thorough in follow through. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Creative thinker with a passion for creating meaningful experiences for donors. CRM database experience (Salesforce strongly preferred) and related third-party apps (Classy, Campaign Monitor, iWave) Demonstrated knowledge of community resources, corporations and philanthropic organizations Self-starter, motivated, and able to take initiative in all situations Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines Committed to fostering an environment of trust, transparency, and mutual respect. Able to work frequently at our San Francisco campus, with flexibility for remote work. Salary: $125k-$145k, commensurate with experience.
