The Director, Operational Risk and Resilience Management (ORRM) will report to the Head of Risk and Resilience Programs in supporting various risk programs to enhance Manulife's operational risk and resilience capability. The Director will work closely with segment risk teams to provide guidance to better identify and manage current and emerging risks, reporting relevant risk and resilience postures, and demonstrating appropriate risk behaviours and culture.
Position Responsibilities: Support the development and maintenance of operational resilience policies, standards and guidelines. Support the development of various Operational Resilience Program workstreams as well as ad hoc projects and risk programs. Operate as SME to provide oversight and challenge over the ongoing critical operations maturity assessment activities and the reporting of resilience posture, working with Segment Risk Officers to help ensure timely and accurate resilience assessment outcomes. With an emphasis on Resilience, provide education and training to business, operations and technology resources to implement the resilience management program(s) within their respective area. Education and training should have a particular focus on integrating with their existing risk, resilience and compliance processes to help ensure sustainability and avoid duplication of effort. Share key information, including risk exposures, resilience posture and maturity, loss data and risk management/control best practices to various business, operations and technology contacts to facilitate sharing of learnings. Required Qualifications: Operational risk and resilience experience within a large Financial Institution. Minimum 8 years of experience in risk management, technology, operations or compliance background. University undergraduate degree with a relevant advanced professional designation preferred (e.g., MBA, Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Technology). Solid experience in designing, implementing, and validating the effectiveness of operational controls. Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts. Strong influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships, both within and across segments, functions and geographies. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically. Self-starter with the ability to work with little guidance. Salary Range: $103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
