Job Summary Provide professional, administrative, and financial leadership and direction of all programs, policies/procedures, and goals/objectives encompassing medication management activities. Promotes team efforts to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives. Maintains knowledge of current Pharmaceutical practice and demonstrates a personal commitment to professional growth. Serves as a liaison between the Pharmacy Service Line, other departments and the Medical Staff. Participates in the planning, organization and implementation of new programs and activities. Responsible for assuring medication excellence in quality, safety, efficiency, and employee/provider engagement. Accountable for financial planning, forecasting, and managing expense variances for all areas of responsibility.
Essential Functions Develops the strategic vision and plan for pharmacy services, supporting site and Beaumont Health direction.
Directs and coordinates the operations of all areas of pharmacy responsibility to ensure the delivery of quality services in a timely manner and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.
Directs the development and management of medication use policy and clinical pharmacy services.
Responsible for the development and monitoring of quality assurance and safety issues related to medication management programs.
In conjunction with system wide staff, develops and creates policies and procedures to ensure standardization and regulatory compliance with all relevant agencies and internal indicators.
Establish and monitor capital and operating budgets.
Directs the management of the department's human resources, ensuring a skilled and competent workforce to meet the objectives of the organization.
Participates on various pharmacy and interdisciplinary committees, serving as the lead medication management expert.
Participates in community activities, professional organizations and/or hospital committees to promote the service of the department.
Qualifications Required Hospital pharmacy residency or hospital pharmacy experience with progressively increase level of responsibility.
5 years of relevant experience pharmacy management experience.
LIC-Clinical Pharmacist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
LIC-Pharmacist Controlled Substance - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
Preferred Master's Degree Graduate of a college of pharmacy, advanced degree (example: MS, MBA).
