Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential advocacy and support services to individuals impacted by domestic abuse (DA). This role involves working closely with victims, providing crisis intervention, guidance, and connecting them with necessary resources to ensure their safety and well-being.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate : Pay commensurate with experience.

Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate Responsibilities Include:
Provide direct advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support.
Assist victims in understanding their rights and navigating the legal and social services systems.
Coordinate with local shelters, law enforcement, and other community resources to ensure comprehensive support for victims.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Develop and implement educational programs and workshops to raise awareness about domestic abuse and available resources.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all services provided, ensuring that data is kept up to date and secure.
Participate in community outreach activities to promote the organization's services and build strong partnerships with other agencies.
Provide follow-up services to ensure ongoing support and resource access for victims.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, Counseling or Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
A minimum of two years of experience in assisting and providing advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault.
Upon hire, or within six months of hiring, the candidate must obtain the Basic Advocate credential with the designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist, as approved and offered by the National Advocate Credentialing Program, overseen by the National Organization for Victims Assistance.
Strong knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics, legal rights of victims, and available resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and managing confidential information.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
