Benefits Benefits/Perks: Tuition Assistance Program Monthly MetroCards or travel reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will be provided to staff conducting home visits to families Generous paid time off (Including 5 Self-Care Days/Floating Holidays, 12 Sick Days, 15 Vacation Days, and 11 Holidays) Healthcare Plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Care) 403(b) Plan (GSS contributes 3% of your salary to your 403(b) plan after 3 years of service, with contributions increasing over time) Overview SAFE HOMES PROJECT Title: ECONOMIC MOBILITY MANAGER - Rapid Re-housing Reports to: Program Director, Safe Homes Project Location: 503 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215 Hours: 35Hours/Week; Non-exempt Salary Range: $60--$65K depending upon qualifications Job Summary: As a member of the Safe Homes Project team, the Economic Stability Case Manager for Rapid Re-housing will provide a full array of case management, counseling, advocacy, and coaching to prepare those who have experienced homelessness and gender-based violence to live safely and maintain their own permanent housing. This will entail helping survivors access and increase skills around educational and life-skills competencies, job readiness, job training, employment, and other tools to advance their self-sufficientcy and economic mobility. Major Duties: Oversee the diverse case management and advocacy needs of approximately 15 survivors of gender-based violence, maintaining regular contact with participants which may take place at the agency, the participant's home, or other public spaces in the community as needed. Conduct a comprehensive intake interview and assessment process with each participant/family to co-create an individualized action plan to identify short and long-term goals. Provide coaching for participants focused on life skills, budgeting and financial wellness, job readiness, and self-advocacy to support their long-term housing stability. Facilitate access to community resources around education, training, and financial assistance by making appropriate referrals as warranted. Provide advocacy and referral for survivors and their children to address ongoing needs related to public benefits, immigration, Court/police matters, legal assistance, medical issues, etc. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date database entries and case file record documentation for all participants served, including contact information, progress notes, advocacy and referral letters, and benefits and housing applications. Assist program participants to resolve landlord and/or housing related issues and potential crises in order to help ensure they remain stably housed. Collaborate and communicate regularly with program staff, other internal GSS employees, and external stakeholders and organizations in order to support the success of survivors enrolled in the program. Participate in all weekly individual supervision, team/staff meetings, and case conferences. Attend all agency and external trainings and work groups relevant to the role. Represent the the program and agency in external meetings, resource fairs, and tabling opportunities in order to learn about resources, recruit participants, and network with other providers. Offer aftercare assistance as needed to participants who have completed the program to support their long-term housing stability. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a relevant field required. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish required. Two years of experience providing services to a wide-ranging population of homeless participants preferred, with a history of successful collaboration with community-based organizations and governmental agencies/systems to address homelessness and the needs of gender-based violence survivors. Must possess an anti-racist lens and cultural humility around ethnic and cultural differences in understanding and responding to the needs of gender-based violence survivors. Must be committed to employing a strength-based and trauma-informed approach. Excellent crisis intervention, advocacy, and problem-solving skills required. Willingness to work a flexible schedule Mon-Fri in response to participant needs. Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in order to maintain accurate documentation and engage in professional relationships with external stakeholders. Able and willing to travel throughout the five NYC boroughs and work independently as needed.
