This role involves proactive project acquisition, building and maintaining relationships with authors and editors, and leading a team to meet the program's objectives. The Editorial Director will also be a key liaison with the Faculty Board, contribute to the development of publishing services, and demonstrate a commitment to the scholarly community's needs and challenges.

Applicants for the Editorial Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in humanities, social sciences, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. A minimum of 8 years' experience in scholarly book acquisition and at least 4 years of supervisory experience are required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the scholarly book business, digital communication tools, academic publishing trends, and social media. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. The role demands a candidate who is adept at budgeting, financial forecasting, and is proficient in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered, and knowledge of foreign languages is a plus.
