Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will lead the R&D for the electrical engineering team, working closely with mechanical and manufacturing engineering disciplines to support new product introduction for switchgear technology, especially focused on air switch and break switches.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include designing and developing new switchgear equipment for substations within the power utility industry, interfacing with production teams and sales engineers, supporting utility companies on research and testing, and coordinating with clients to meet specific customer needs and challenges. The role involves reviewing new product developments in switchgear technologies, ensuring custom specifications meet ANSI and NEMA requirements, and being responsible for stamping off on projects. The engineer will review equipment and structural specifications, and provide technical information regarding design, manufacturing, and materials. Hard Skills Power Utility fabrication experience Electrical engineering with substation equipment Utility switchgears and resistors expertise New product development in electrical and power utility engineering Soft Skills Ability to determine project viability Strong analytical skills Effective collaboration and communication skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. PE license preferred, required to get PE license 4+ years of engineering experience related to switch gear technology used for power utility industry. Proven experience working in a client facing environment supporting both internal and external stakeholder and customer/supplier relations Direct experience working with CAD software Power utility experience is required working directly with substations or switch gear equipment. Electrical Engineering or design experience working with 15kV to 500kV systems is preferred and experience working with 1200A to 5000A systems.
